A grooving wheel built on a 45# steel or aluminium alloy body with an electroplated diamond working face (60#–400# grit available). The rim is profiled flat, V-shaped or radiused to match the groove and is used for slots, steps and narrow cuts in optical glass, ceramics, cemented carbide and silicon carbide. Plating thickness is 0.15–0.6 mm per side, diamond concentration is tuned to the stock removal rate, and groove width can be held within ±0.02 mm. Body material, working-face position and outer profile can be customised from drawings or samples for CNC grinders and machining centres.
