Electroplated diamond drill bits covering twist, step, double-ended centre, spotting, composite and straight-flute types, for precision through and blind holes in difficult materials such as cemented carbide, superalloys, special ceramics, silicon carbide and optical glass. Compared with carbide drills, chipping and cracking at the hole mouth are markedly reduced, the hole wall is cleaner and continuous drilling is possible. Grit, plating thickness, edge form, overall length and shank type are matched to sheet thickness, spindle speed and hole depth.
