White amorphous powder, m.p. 1670℃, bulk density 0.75 g/cm³, soluble in dilute HCl and HNO₃, slightly soluble in cold water, insoluble in ethanol, stable in air; β-form. Complies with FCC-4 and HG2789-1996, with tighter in-house limits. Used in food industry as anti-caking agent, calcium nutritional supplement and flavour enhancer, also as buffer and pH regulator. Packed in 25 kg paper-plastic laminated bags; 20 t per 20' FCL unpalletised.
