A strongly cationic water-soluble polymer, readily soluble in water and an effective dye fixative. In colour inkjet coatings it binds with anionic coating components and the anionic groups of the dyes, locking the dye inside the layer so that prints resist water and humidity, do not bleed and show more vivid, saturated colour. Added to water-based ink-receiving formulations together with boehmite nano alumina and PVA, it markedly improves water fastness and colour density. It also serves as a conditioning agent, an antistatic agent and a humectant. Wear a mask and rubber gloves when handling, avoid contact with skin, eyes, mouth and nose, and rinse with water immediately if contact occurs. Store sealed in a cool, ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
