Section detail: compacted stranded copper conductor, semi-conducting screens, thick XLPE insulation, copper tape screen, water-blocking tape and oversheath. The screens even out the field at the conductor surface and prevent discharge from voids, while the water-blocking construction stops longitudinal moisture penetration. Every drum is partial-discharge and AC withstand-voltage tested before delivery.
