Colorless transparent orthorhombic crystals, white powder or granules; density 2.109 g/cm³, melting point 334°C; freely soluble in water, liquid ammonia and glycerol; stable in air, a strong oxidizer. Industrial grade is used for specialty and organic chemical heat-transfer molten salts, metal heat treatment, special glass, cigarette paper, catalysts and mineral processing, as well as fireworks, matches, ceramic glazes and chemical reagents. Agricultural grade is a fully water-soluble potassium-nitrogen fertilizer for foliar spray and drip irrigation of flowers, vegetables and fruit trees.
